Synopsis
Two men arrive in a quiet suburban neighborhood with an unusual order from their boss. One is calm. The other is very much not. As they sit outside an ordinary house arguing over nerves, protocol, and a mysterious set of “new rules,” it becomes increasingly unclear what they’ve been sent there to do, whether they’re actually going to do it, or why the old rules suddenly weren’t good enough. A darkly comic descent into something much stranger than it first appears.

W. Boyd Ford is a writer and filmmaker whose career has taken him through several dark corners of the film industry, including film laboratory work, video assist, production, and screenwriting.
He wrote and co-produced Blood Feast 2: All U Can Eat, helping lure splatter-film pioneer Herschell Gordon Lewis out of retirement and reunite him with producer David F. Friedman decades after their original Blood Feast.
Ford has written more than two dozen screenplays, a few of them considered good, and a couple even produced.
About New Rules
New Rules is a dark comedy about two hitmen on their way to a job, discussing a troubling development: their boss has instituted some new rules.
Set largely inside a car as the pair make their way toward their mark, the film finds its humor in the collision between ordinary workplace frustration and a decidedly less ordinary profession. What begins as a conversation about changing expectations gradually reveals just how complicated following the rules can become when your line of work has never had many.
Written and directed by W. Boyd Ford, New Rules stars Billy Slaughter, Oscar Gale, and William E. Harris.

I have a lot of favorite quotes, but I think the top of the list is from Stephen King in his book, “On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft”. “You can, you should, and if you're brave enough to start, you will.”
